Kerry Tunstall
I am originally from Kamo, Whangarei but I have lived in Christchurch for twenty years. In 2009 I graduated from Ilam School of Fine Art, University of Canterbury.
I have a trade’s background, having completed both a boiler-making welding apprenticeship upon leaving school and a stone masonry apprenticeship, after the Christchurch earthquakes.
Recently, I have been working part time as a tutor/facilitator for a blind and deaf artist and as a cleaner for a community arts hub based at the old school in New Brighton, Christchurch. I have also been active in our local community gallery which is a Christchurch City Council supported initiative called Recreate.
In 2018, I planned a community event at the old school in New Brighton called the Art -Science Tent. It was an art exhibition involving 27 artists from the community and around the world to our local community.
Last year, I was involved in an on-going arts, science and technology workshop organized by the Latin America Europe Culture Ring, coordinated from the University of the Republic of Uruguay. It involved approximately 20 participants from universities across the world, in what was termed a “cultural ring.” The art- science and tech projects involved arts and technology specialists from around the world connecting to a collaborative project proposal and that was successful and the work continues this year.
I have exhibited in a light art shows in Lyttleton and at the Science gallery in Dublin, Christchurch based Art Hole, Fifty Works and in Hanger-Art in Whangarei.

Arts in the MediaJoshua Prendeville: Building an Audience on Boosted
Accomplished Filmmaker Joshua Prendeville first came to Boosted in order to help with funding his 2024 Film 'The House Within,' documenting the life and work of 2026 Katherine Mansfield Menton Fellow Dame Fiona Kidman. Since then he has gone on to direct an adaptation of Katherine Mansfield's 'The Garden Party,' that was also funded in part through Boosted. His latest project is 'Earthly Shadows,' a short film adaptation of the award-winning story by Fiona Kidman. For Joshua, Boosted has become a more than just a funding avenue, it's a way to bring his audience onboard at the start of a film's journey and bring that crowd along with him. Joshua was kind enough to share with us his experiences and lessons learned from growing his audience on Boosted, and how he aims to bring them on a journey with his latest project, 'Earthly Shadows.'18 May 2026 -
