How To Power The Arts
Since 2000, we’ve been on a mission to build a culture of giving to the arts: a growing movement of people who believe artists and creatives are central to a thriving Aotearoa New Zealand. We invest in the most important capital of all: people.
2001 Laureates Dame Gaylene Preston DNZM, Phil Dadson ONZM, Kate De Goldi, and Michael Parekōwhai.
The Impact You'll Have
Thanks to the support of people like you, we award New Zealand’s most outstanding artists: Icon Whakamana Hiranga, Laureates, and Springboarders.
We help New Zealand’s creatives fundraise for their projects on Boosted, facilitating on average $1.8M+ in crowdfunding per year.
We advocate that creativity is essential for New Zealanders — through annual roadshows, video story-telling and getting the arts into the media.
Ways to Join
-
Kotahi Membership
$500
Make an annual donation and become part of our giving collective, Kotahi – one voice for the arts.
You’ll be the first to know about major arts events and moments, receive exclusive invites to events around the country (plus 2 tickets to the arts party of the year, our Laureate Awards Party in Spring!) and we’ll recognise your name as an arts backer. Join as a couple or on your own!
-
Kotahi Membership + Donation
From $1,500 – $25,000
Make a deeper impact by adding a gift to your membership from $1,500+.
-
A Gift in Your Will and In Memory
A gift in your will is one of the most powerful ways to ensure you leave the arts better than you found them. Help future generations of outstanding New Zealand artists thrive, no matter how large or small, every bequest makes a difference.
Alternatively, you may wish to make a gift in memory of a loved one, and help to keep their legacy alive through the arts.
-
Give on Boosted
$5 and above
Check out the creative projects crowdfunding now on Boosted and help make them happen. Give anywhere from $5, and know you’ve played a part in supporting creativity in Aotearoa New Zealand. Any givers of $10,000 or more across the year automatically become part of Kotahi.
-
Fundraise for Us
Bring a crowd, back the arts!
Host an Arts Dinner Party or your own Kotahi event at your place.
-
Back the Arts through Business
Looking for a partnership that gets you across the country, into broad communities, and gives you unprecedented access to New Zealand’s greatest creatives? The Arts Foundation has flagship events and multiple touch points depending on your goals. Get in touch!

DONATE people, if you connect with the entity or the work, step up and back it – you can’t take the dollars with you. Buy tickets endlessly for shows – even if you can’t go – give them away. Perform random acts of kindness. If we are lucky to have some abundance, then why not pass it on.”
