We run a community charitable trust (www.pcset.org.nz) project managing & supporting the PIPC Newton refurbish the heritage 1908 Maori Hall, 5 Edinburgh St, Newton, Auckland, off K Rd.
The purpose will be to use this historic hall for community events, support youth development, the arts, creativity and wellbeing.
It needs a seismic retrofit and the fundraising will pay for the last phase of heritage architecture/engineering design/surveying/quantity surveying & final costings report.
This will then allow us to further fundraise to complete the project.
The Maori Hall has lain derelict since 2008 when it was last used for the Michael Parekowhai "Jim McMurtry" installation.
