Chirp - A Short Film

Ever wanted something so bad it made you go a little mad? 

Chirp is a short film about Serena, a neurotic kiwi girl who gets tormented by a cricket the night before a big audition. 

The team of 'Chirp' has been working incredibly hard on pre production for the last 3 months. Now we are at the final stages right before shooting and we need your help! 

My name is Mirene Castelltort and I am the writer/Director and Co-Producer of Chirp. I am a Screen Production graduate from unitec and when I'm not extras coordinating for Netflix or 1st ADing for Nike I am writing and producing my own work!  

I came up with this idea a little over 3 years ago, but it wasn't until last year that I contacted Brigit Kelly to help bring this idea to life. 

Brigit Kelly is the co-producer and will be our lead, Serena. She is also a graduate from unitec in the acting department and has worked on projects like Brokenwood Mysteries and Shortland Street. I am incredibly excited and grateful to be working along side Brigit and her weird and wonderful brain. 

Alice Brately is our art director and Lauren Millar is costumes and art assist. The work they have already done for Chirp's pre-production is unbelievable, I can't wait for everyone to see  what they are capable of once the film is out.

We will be shooting Chirp the 20th-23rd of February. This will be a four day shoot in multiple locations around Auckland. Once wrapped, we will then be working with Faith Cruz to get our film edited. Our aim is to submit to a selection of festivals to get as many eyes on this project as possible.
