After these costs are covered, these funds will be put towards any additional production needs and distributed to the cast and crew.
The Details
We're creating a clown show because if there's something at Bramble 'n Fudge Productions we adore, it's creating art that's playful, joyous, and absurd! Hence: Clowns that are also Cowboys.
We're a group of emerging artists creating a show that'll not only stretch us to our silly limits, but perhaps, even stretch the possibility of what silliness is possible, like an impossibly stretchy rubber band, except it's a Rubber Band Of Silliness.
Clownboys is a western, clowning, comedy show. With five performers doing slap-stick, physical gags, classic clown jokes, western tropes, and singing original country ballads. The show will have live music, prop comedy, and elements of interaction, bringing joy and silliness to their audiences. With unapologetically queer undertones, this show explores standing out, fitting in, and comradery. The characters will explore what it means to be a clown, a cowboy, or even a cow.
The Impact
Do you like clowns? Do you like Cowboys? Help us bring this creation to life!
Bramble 'n' Fudge Productions, and this show, have a kaupapa of supporting queer voices, youth and early-career practitioners, and growing our accessibility and environmental impact awareness.
- Our company is LGBTQIA+ led and friendly, and a goal is to make all our queer audience members feel seen and comfortable in a really natural way.
- Another goal is to let all the company members, cast and crew, expand their practice in a safe and supportive environment like the Fringe Festival We are all in the first decade of our careers, some only a year or two out of an arts degree in Wellington. We want to inspire the next generation to create work.
- We have a huge people-first approach, and hope to give a sizeable koha to everyone who works on this show. Because the show, and this industry, would not be alive without the people, we make our art for people.
