The Project

Cry Neon is about drug addiction and trauma. It is a psychedelic journey of sorrow of what one does to cope as well as what should be done. It is a creative look on real life trauma and abuse, and is a cautionary tale that will resonate with many and is a great message for all. This is a powerful story to get behind.

The Team

Director Eva-Marie Hartmann:

My vision for Cry Neon is simply to capture the pain and loss of the story to follow its key emotions closely. It's a story about raw closure, from aspects of real and non real emotions - it closes a chapter of grief and survival and a look of what anxiety to the limit in human form.

As people we all cope with grief differently, physically and emotionally.

In my vision I see we all face our own inner demons, I myself face them every once in awhile, but in order to face them we have to forgive and allow ourselves a second chance to keep going; and for Angel love and acceptance is her hardest battle to face but one she doesn't have to face alone as we show her looping journey down the rabbit hole.

The Details

We want to make something for audiences that is visually captivating and dream-like, while giving a strong message about the negative affects of substance abuse. We want people that they are not alone, and there are other means. This may be a fictional story, but the content is real.

The Impact

From Producer, Alex Davis. I relate to the struggle trauma brings and leaning on substances for support. I know that it can seem like the only way to keep going, to cope through the pain and loss. This story highlights this, while also shining a light on the fact that we are not alone. We all have people around us who love and support us, it can just be hard to see clearly. We see you, we are here for you, and we want you to not be like our character, Angel. She is a lovely human being, but she is lost in the drugs and alcohol and is not herself because of it. This is a powerful message that needs to be seen and heard. This story has resonated with me immensely. It gives me strength, and I hope it does for you all too.
