Project Updates
The first project on the new modules!!! :-)
Dear supporters...
After half a year of still working on my previous warp and all the preparation like making a two coloured warp , the new modules are now all in!!!
I am now able to weave fine works with 1760 pixels and the full width of the loom.
I have a warp on the loom and a very complex design ready on the go for the upcoming show ART and TIME which will be in the community Gallery in the third week of July. If you are in Dunedin, please come and have a look.
Funding wise the cost for the modules and shipping used up a big lot and then there was some left over which I have blown last week on very fancy mercerised cotton yarn from Holland which I am planing to use on my current warp.
I have started to work with three shuttles and am blessed, that
Sam made me three shelves to hold the shuttles and and the Laptop while I am weaving.

Once the piece is woven, I will send you more photos.

This colour swatch is just a beginning of what can happen on the loom. I now only need to sort those weave structures and apply them to the design. Starting the actual weaving of the piece is immanent. (After spending probably a couple of hundred hours on designing and learning about the design to get here)
I am very thankful for your support. Sometimes I wonder why all of this would matter but then I feel so special to be able working on this skill that actually not many people in the country have all together. I hope that I can develop this gift into something that will touch many people in future.
Thank you THANK YOU!

WE MADE IT!!!!

THIS IS AMAZING !!!!
THANKS TO MY COMMUNITY !!!
I have now ordered the loom parts and will let you know when they are installed.
Until then there will still be much weaving on my current warp but once that is woven off, 72 cm wide fabrics HERE WE COME .
HOORAYY!!!
I am over the moon!!!
We are almost half way with two weeks to go
Thank you everyone SO VERY MUCH for supporting me so far!!!
I am almost at half the money needed, and the time is running. It is such an experience to run a crowdfunding campaign. I am so happy to see the warmth the community is giving me. People who know me know that I talk a lot! But having to ask everyone for money is not always easy. With only two weeks to go I still need to find over $5000. If you know anyone interested in the arts or in technical innovation or in community or in generosity, please point them to this project.
This project is an all or nothing thing. If I do not find the full amount by November 11th (12th), the camping will have failed and I am getting nothing. Any amount helps.
If you like to see the loom in action, feel free to visit me Saturday Nov. 1st and 8th between 2.30 and 4 pm and on Tuesday 11.11. after 12 pm to celebrate the end of the campaign. If you like to give me money in cash, I will enter it into the campaign.
I am excited about the weaving, still doing more unicorns as the time for more designs is after November 11th. I have put together old sewing threads made of cotton. At the moment I am working on the light greens. I am looking forward to welcoming you in my studio...
