Overview
'Ent Oshay La Peath' is a short, dramatic thriller written by a Māori acting student that explores themes of belonging, vulnerability, and manipulation. The story follows Annie, a writer who becomes concerned about her sister Christian after she becomes involved with a mysterious organisation that claims to support people in need. As Annie investigates further, she discovers the organisation is operating as a cult that targets vulnerable individuals, promising transformation and belonging in exchange for extreme sacrifice.
The story examines how people experiencing hardship, isolation, or financial instability can become vulnerable to exploitation by groups that present themselves as support systems. Through a tense and emotional narrative centred around family relationships, the work highlights the importance of community awareness and support.
